EICR Testing

EICR Testing

Southern EET Testing is pleased to bring you EICR Testing. This is a service where we document the electrical system within a commercial building. An EICR test makes sure that the building’s electrical system is 100% safe, well-maintained, and is up to code. This type of test can be done on any type or size of building, ranging from a small office building to a large factory or warehouse. You will get a full document telling you what is going on with the electrical system and what changes need to be made to bring it into compliance. Depending upon the size of the building and the complexity of the system, the testing could take anywhere from a few hours to a full business day.

Emergency Light Testing

This is a must-have for commercial buildings. When your building loses power, there are a set of lights that come on so that people can see and exit the premises safely. The standard test in the UK is a three-hour test once per year. Your power gets disconnected for three hours to make sure that all the lights in your building stay on for the full duration of the test. This test will help determine which lights in your system need to be replaced or if the batteries in your system need to be replaced.

Fire Alarm Testing

Fire Alarm Testing

In the United Kingdom, your fire alarm systems need to be tested at least weekly. However, you must have an inspection of your system done once every six months. During the fire alarm testing process, Southern EET Testing will come in and make sure your entire setup is working correctly. Pull stations, smoke detectors, and heat detectors are all checked and tested. Additionally, the central panel will be installed to make sure that it is working correctly and is maintaining a charge.

Fire Extinguisher Testing

In the United Kingdom, fire extinguishers need to be tested and thoroughly inspected at least once per year. During a test, Southern EET Testing will make sure that the stated charge on the extinguisher is at the required level. Additionally, we will also make sure that your extinguishers have been correctly discharged and refilled or replaced as required. Water and foam extinguishers need to be hydrostatically tested once every five years (and refilled) while CO2 extinguishers are tested at the ten year point or replaced.

Fire Risk Assessment

Fire Risk Assessment

Southern EET Testing will help your business conduct a fire risk assessment. In the United Kingdom, a fire risk assessment is required if your business employs five or more people. During the fire risk assessment, we will help your business protect people, identify fire hazards, evaluate the risk, and make a written record of everything. Your fire risk assessment will need to be reviewed every time your work processes or the physical work environment changes significantly.

Legionella Testing

Legionella testing is offered by Southern EET Testing and will help detect the presence of the bacteria that causes Legionnaires disease. Depending upon the heating and cooling layout, a water sample is taken to test for the bacteria. Legionella testing is a requirement for both landlords, on behalf of the tenants in their premises, and businesses. Generally speaking, a test should be done quarterly. However, depending on your system, you may need tests more frequently.

Lightning Protection Inspection

Lightning Protection Inspection

In the United Kingdom, lighting protection is mandated by COMAH 2015 and DSEAR 2012. These HSE regulations are designed to protect buildings and people from fires and explosions that could be caused by lightning and combustible substances. This type of testing is required for water treatment works, power facilities, solar farms, hospitals, care homes, and other similar types of businesses.
