An EICR test makes sure that the building’s electrical system is 100% safe, well-maintained, and is up to code. This type of test can be done on any type or size of building, ranging from a small office building to a large factory or warehouse. You will get a full document telling you what is going on with the electrical system and what changes need to be made to bring it into compliance. Depending upon the size of the building and the complexity of the system, the testing could take anywhere from a few hours to a full business day.
This is a must-have for commercial buildings. When your building loses power, there are a set of lights that come on so that people can see and exit the premises safely. The standard test in the UK is a three-hour test once per year. Your power gets disconnected for three hours to make sure that all the lights in your building stay on for the full duration of the test. Water and foam extinguishers need to be hydrostatically tested once every five years (and refilled) while CO2 extinguishers are tested at the ten year point or replaced.
